Cost of Hiring a Personal Assistant in Midtown

Typical agencies charge 10-20% or more of the personal assistant's annual salary. Since we do not place salaried positions, we operate differently and our fee structure reflects the part-time nature of the roles we place.

You can interview as many candidates as you’d like for free. The Middle does not charge any fee until you are ready to hire. There is a one-time $575 placement fee upon hire, and you pay your PA their wages directly. Candidates in Midtown are typically looking for $30-35/hr.

FAQs

  • Hiring a personal assistant who is available in Midtown can save you time and reduce your stress. All of The Middle’s candidates are located near our clients so they can manage in-person tasks as well as online work from home. You can conveniently pass off errands, returns, and other time-sucks around town to your assistant.

  • You can interview multiple candidates for your position. We’ll provide you with matches who are available to work in/out of Midtown, or who are comfortable with a short commute. You are not obligated to hire anyone you interview, but we’re confident that we will have a match for you!

  • Our clients typically hire personal assistants to handle all of their life administration that they either don’t have time for or that takes time away from more important business or family responsibilities. Many clients have offices in Midtown and we will match you up with candidates who are conveniently located to run errands, organize pickups or drop-offs, or meet in Midtown.

  • Often, familiarity with a client’s industry isn’t required to carry out many personal tasks that most of our clients are looking for. However, if the role is specialized and includes business support, we’ll match you with candidates who have the relevant experience. You can discuss these qualifications when you [interview] each candidate.

  • The Middle only places part-time positions. Most clients are looking for around 10 hours per week, and this works best for busy professionals who do not have enough work for an assistant all day every day, but could use support throughout the week for all of the “little things” that keep life and/or business running smoothly.

  • Start by filling out our Client Questionnaire. This will walk you through all the information we’ll need to determine which candidate matches you best.

We will share candidate profiles via email for you to review. Simply let us know who you would like to meet with, provide your availability, and we’ll set up video interviews at your convenience.

After interviewing, choose your favorite candidate to hire. We’ll connect you directly with your hire and then you two will take it from there! We are not involved in the employment; our services are to facilitate introductions to qualified, appropriate candidates.

  • Generally, a personal assistant from The Middle can start working within a week. If there are any constraints on their start date, this will be communicated during the interview process.
