I have been a personal assistant to entrepreneurs, small business owners, and busy professionals since 2014. When I started, I needed a steady job with a flexible schedule so I could pursue my dreams in Hollywood, but my experience as a personal assistant also nurtured a new dream: entrepreneurship. I worked under so many entrepreneurs, I realized I shared the same passion. Personal assistants are mini CEOs, by the way.

I know how to recruit the best personal assistants because I can easily identify the qualities in others that have made me so successful. I know what The Middle’s clients are looking for because I’ve worked for them all; my experience is not limited to one industry.

Over the years, I never understood why there wasn’t a dedicated, online place to find part-time personal assistants; it seemed like a no-brainer. So I created The Middle.

Gracie Lane

Founder + CEO

Gracie Lane is the Founder & CEO of The Middle. She is also someone who charged her younger sister for hand-me-downs at age 12, so you could say she’s always had a knack for business. Gracie received her B.A. from UCLA and M.S. in Entrepreneurship from USC Marshall School of Business.

  • We're called The Middle because we're not Craigslist (creepy!) and we're not an agency (what a hassle!). We're somewhere in the middle: an accessible online platform with the personal touch of being matched to your personal assistant. (Also, our founder, Gracie, is a middle child...)

  • We are different from a traditional agency. Traditional agencies place salaried, full-time assistants and charge thousands of dollars in commission. We place part-time, ongoing personal assistants with no reoccurring commissions. The agency search process can take months, whereas The Middle can take as little as a week. Unlike an agency, our process is seamless, quick, and transparent.
